Chic Cable Bag – Free Knitting Pattern

Instant love for this sophisticated knit cable bag design. Not the easiest knitting pattern with all those cables and angles, but I think we can handle it. What do you think? I love that lotus flower center of the bag. It’s really unique.
In grey-silver, this bag is a stunner!

When I played around with the colors, I have to say I quite like the blue version as well. What’s your favorite?

Ribbit – Free Pattern!

Ribbit

Hi Spud & Chloë Friends,
I am excited to introduce a new Spud & Chloë free pattern to you today. Meet Ribbit!
Ribbit is knit up in the fabulous Spud & Chloë Sweater in the Grass #7502 colorway and you only need one skein. The added twist is that inside of the body is a tennis ball! This means that Ribbit bounces when tossed! How fun is that? The bounce is softened because of the knitted enclosure but this makes it even better for indoor play.

The tennis ball inside is optional and  you can always simply stuff the body with fiber-fill.
Have fun, Knitters! This is a good one. Plus it is fairly simple in construction. The pattern is a basic skill-builder for beginners and a breeze for all other knitters.
Added later: Please note that to attach the head to the body place a length of yarn or an available end on a yarn needle. Whipstitch the head to the top of the body and pull all ends to the inside and trim.

Autumn Leaves

In April, I made a sweater for my friend Rebecca's newborn baby. I gave it to her on the condition that she would give me a photograph of Baby Ella in said sweater, but motherhood got away from her, and Ella has now outgrown the sweater. Sadness. So the photos are babyless, but I think that now that the leaves are changing and apple pies are baking, it's finally time to post this pattern.

Free sewing tutorial and pattern girls skirt

I made this skirt for my daughter. I made the same skirt earlier out of jersey. Because you sew a skirt out of jersey slightly different as a skirt out of cotton, I made a new tutorial for this skirt. Sizes range from newborn to 10Y.

Travel Tote with Two-Tier Wraparound Pockets

When you're on the road, doesn't it always seems to be the ordinary, everyday things you are suddenly in desperate need of: gum, nail clippers, your headphones? I get a little panicky, certain I've left behind the most obvious items... as if perhaps I'm on an arctic expedition and won't see civilization for weeks. But the opportunity for replenishment doesn't matter; I want my stuff close at hand. That's the theory behind our handsome travel tote: plenty o' pockets to stash all your stuff. There are four big outside pockets that wrap front and back plus a deep inside compartment (exactly deep enough for a magazine, I might add!)with its own generous interior pocket. I'm still likely to forget something, which is why after my current travels, I now own six pairs of sunglasses and a dozen tubes of lip balm.
We offer a full set of pattern downloads below for the tote body as well as all the pockets.
We recommend using a twin needle to do the decorative stitching on this project. Check your supplies to see if your machine came with one. If not, stop by your local sewing machine dealer to see if there's one available as an optional accessory for your machine make and model. It's an inexpensive add-on with lots of uses. Take a look at our twin needle tutorial for more information.
